Insane Day!!

I woke up this morning extremely excited about hitting up the slopes. I had all my gear ready and in the car. After I confirmed to myself that I had everything, I picked up my girl at her house. As I was there, I decided to eat some breakfast...a good ol' bowl of cereal, Honey & Oats to be exact. While I was grabbing the directions for Snow Summit, we also check the weather forecast. It said there's a 50-50 percent chance of a snow shower.

Well, before we left Mira Mesa, I had to fill up the tank, which was just about empty to begin with. After I got gas, I hit up the bank to pull out some money, and afterwards went across the street to Subway to grab a foot long Turkey & Ham sandwich on Honey Oat bread. I just realized that I had honey oats for breakfast and lunch...coincidence? Anyway, we got on the 15N and we were on our way. Everything was going great! No traffic at all.

After a good long an hour and a half long drive, we arrived at bottom, or the beginning of the mountain. We were about a good 3/4 up the mountain till our destination until we get to this turn and I felt a slight drift. As I felt it, I immediatly stepped on the breaks...NOTHING HAPPENS!! My girl in her exact words were, "what are you doing, what are you doing?" I told her that I wasn't doing anything and that there's nothing I can do. We then collide into the dirt on the side of the road which was covered with snow. Then suddenly, the engine of my car is off. I immediately turn my key to check if it still works, and thank the Lord, it did. The only problem was, we were stuck on the side of the street underneath some snow. I had to rev my car in reverse to it's maximum power to get out of there.

We then, pulled over to the side of the road, and decided to take that as a sign. Scary...very scary indeed. I didn't have any tire chains for my car, since it was snowing out, so we decided to head back down the mountain. Ya'll understand right?

Well, as we were heading down the mountain, my girl calls her cousin since she lives in L.A. So they decided that they wanted to hit the waves and go surfing. That didn't go through. Guess why?...It started to rain really hard. It was definitely a sign from God, to stay in the house and just relax.

Instead of surfing, we ended up watching a movie, 300. It was even sicker the second time I saw it. I can't get enough of the fight scenes...they are just so, how can I say this, different the normal fight scenes from movies. Just like what Tony the Tiger always says, "They're great!" After that, it was time for us to leave. Such a disappointment. I was really looking forward to snowboarding...ah well, there's always next season.

Thank you Lord, for protecting us from harm. We thank you that it wasn't serious.

There was only minor damage to the car, which was located on the rim. It's a bit scratched up, but I'm glad that there wasn't any damage anywhere else on the car.

Lord, Thank you again.

Can't Sleep...

Maybe it's because I'm excited about going snowboarding tomorrow, or it's because I got off of work at midnight. Or maybe I'm just excited about getting off of work and getting ready to hit the slopes...yeah, that's it. I really just want to make the best of my spring break and snowboarding will surely do that. This will be the first of the season, and probably one of the last. It's bittersweet, but better than nothing...right? Check out the scenery...beautiful isn't it.

I was talking to Jared, one of the co-workers. He was telling me that they were going to be playing some ball at UCSD today at around 6:30. I was really looking forward in going sharpen up my skills since they're so rusty...it's been ages since the last time I've played...more like a couple of months. But still, I used to be in the best shape of my life...running games after games after games. I'll definitely have to start sometime, but just not now.

Anyway, I'll be up and down the slopes tomorrow...eating it, just like how i fell when I was getting the Jordan's. Nothing by FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!

VIDEO OF THE DAY:

Nothing but relaxation for 2 days till work on Wednesday. Then I'll be step into a dimension of pestering customers expecting to find immediate results, and the never ending carts of go backs, and not to mention being left alone with no sense of instructions from more experienced plumbers in the department. I pretty much have to learn on my own. But it's better that way sometimes. I don't always want to rely on others to find the answer, or I'll never learn. It's time for sleep...till the next daily dose of vitamins and minerals, good night!

A Week of Great Accomplishments

I have fulfilled my duties as a Cashier and have been promoted to becoming a Plumber! It's good and bad, but mostly good. But enough about work. I have managed to get my hands on a couple of shoes that I have been eyeing for some time, and now, I can finally say that I own them. Introducing, the members of my growing collection of sneaks:

First up, Jordan Retro III Flips

Got these two weeks before they actually came out...DOB: March 10, 2007

Second, the Nike Air Force 1 Inside Outs were born:

The heritage that I am proud to be...Filipino...we're doing bigs things!! DOB: March 14, 2007

And last but not least, the Jordan Retro III Fire Red's:

The most painful Jordan's I have ever gotten...well so far at least. I've waited in line starting at 5 in the morning...originally wanted to start at 3 to get a head start, but were forced to leave by the actions the security guard took upon us. The words he spoke exactly were, "you have no business here." Words of an asshole. I'm kidding, he's only doing his job. Yulster and his sister were along for the release. As the doors opened at 6, everyone fell out of line and rampaged through the door. As I saw everyone running through, I began running as well, and as I got my engines running as I step foot into the building, I trip and fall, trying to catch my balance. I fell on my knees pretty hard...it's as if I was Carlton in the show "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air." Well anyways, here's a reminisince of my fall: it's at 4:54

Everytime I look at my knees, I'll think about Jordan III's.

Work...Good or Bad?

I've been contemplating about the work conditions, and it has it's good and bad times. Today was my 3rd day as a plumbing associate and I have continued to learn new things everyday. I've had a couple of difficult questions to answer, but luckily, my fellow associates in plumbing have my back. Plumbing was the last department I wanted to transfer into, and has been by far, very challenging, which does seem to phase me because I enjoy being in difficult situations. It's just a part of life that you have to learn. I mean cashiering was one of the easiest jobs, but a challenge is always needed.

Work is like a game of basketball, Cashier was just like practice and the Plumbing department is the game. There's always something new to learn and work on. Always room for vast knowledge and improvement. Since being in Plumbing, most of the customers I have encountered really nice, but I've had a one customer so far that was rude, and another customer from just the sound of her voice, that was really annoying. Other than that, Plumbing has been great. It's not as bad as everyone thinks it is. It's by far one of the most challenging departments of them all.

It's great that I have gotten the opportunity to prove myself that transfering me onto the floor was a good decision to make. I was really hoping to get into the Electrical department as I spoke with the head of the department a couple of times, while he was still there, about opening spots in the department. I spoke with the store manager as well as the HR about possibly moving onto the floor, specifically indicating and stressing that I be moved into the Electrical department. Don't get me wrong, but I'm greatfully thankful to be in a department at all.

Overall, work is good. Income is alright, customers are friendly, and associates are cooler than cool.

Knowledge is Power!
